Winter Tutor Training Dates:
• March 6 and March 13
• April 17 and April 24
Each training is TWO Saturdays. They begin at 9:00am and end at 3:30pm. They are held at 1264 Higuera Street, Suite 102, San Luis Obispo. Call 541-4219 for more information.
The Literacy Council
The Literacy Council for San Luis Obispo County is a nonprofit organization committed to assisting adult learners and their families in the development of English language communication skills.
We recruit and prepare volunteers as tutors, who in turn provide individual and group instruction to learners in reading, writing, speaking and basic number skills. The primary goal is to promote individual awareness and involvement in the literacy process, while furthering the ability of learners to function well in the community.
The success of The Literacy Council's learning centers depends entirely on volunteer effort!
There are Learning Centers throughout the Central Coast, which provide their Learners and Tutors with books, learning materials, and a friendly learning environment.
